ALL, THE MEXICO WE LOVE

Location Guide: A Room (and a Drink) with a View

terrace

We hope you’re reading this post from the comfort of some beautiful outdoor scene, because it’s summer and you’ve earned it.

Let’s say you aren’t though because you need some guidance on where to drink when you’re in Mexico City in the splendors of summer. Maybe you need the perfect terrace to plan for your romantic shoot or maybe you’ve just wrapped a shoot with us and the day is still young, so let’s go get a margarita. Let us tell you where to go.

Maybe it’s midday and maybe you want to catch a nice walk before hitting the bar. Head over to Xochimilco, our very own Venice. There’s an extensive canal system that runs through this part of the city in the Historic Center, and it’s gorgeous, much like our city in the summer. You can take a boat ride through the canals or just walk along the perimeter and watch spectators sail on by.

By now you might be ready to sit out and enjoy a nice drink on a beautiful patio, so try Hotel Condesa, one of the premier hotels in all of Mexico City. It’s a small, luxurious hotel tucked away on a corner in the Condesa neighborhood housed in a building from 1928. The wide open wooden terraces provide ample comfort for a casual mezcal in the evening, and maybe if you have too much to imbibe, stay a night in one of the rooms; it’s modern, but warm – much like what the city itself has to offer!

If Hotel Condesa is booked, or maybe even not your favorite, check out Habita Hotel or Downtown Hotel. Owned and operated by the same group, their space transitions from indoor to outdoor on glorious patios with spectacular views, picture perfect for your summer-themed Instagram posts.

If you are looking for a rooftop terrace with some fine food, we suggest El Mayor, where you can enjoy some delicious traditional Mexican food or pasta with a glass of wine or hard beverage while looking out at City Center.

azul

Azul Historico’s menu is downright mouthwatering and their patio is one for the books. With trees growing out of the center and set on beautiful wooden tables, you can sit in the hot summer air and enjoy top notch eats, and feel like you are transported to a scene from a hundred years ago a thousand miles away.

Happy Summer!
