ALL, THE MEXICO WE LOVE, THE WORK WE LOVE

Common Misconception: Production Designers

Production in Mexico might seem like a foreign idea to many, but we’re here to make it a little more accessible. As such, we’ve started our Common Misconception series to debunk some production stereotypes of our home and showcase all that production south of the border has to offer.

First things first: if you want world class creatives, we have them. Let’s talk Production Designers. We’ve got them here too and we’ve worked with some of the best, internationally-lauded production designers in the business.

Take Roberto Bonelli for instance. Born in Denmark and trained at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, Bonelli’s can boast credits like Apocalypto, Frida, and Che among his feature credits as well as commercials for P&G, Facebook, Nintendo, Hyundai and Corona alongside directors like Fredrik Bond, Rupert Sanders and David Frankham.

Or perhaps you are familiar with Hania Robledo, whose worked closely with top directors on features ranging from The Mask of Zorro to Frida to Elysium. Her work on Frida landed her an Oscar nomination for Best Art Direction (alongside Felipe Fernández del Paso).

Both incredibly talented people call Mexico City their home and count The Lift among their cohort.
